Reliable, comfortable, organic protection for a moderate flow
Description
Reusable Organic Day Pad
- A body-friendly, wallet-friendly, earth-friendly alternative to disposable pads
- Comfortable all-cotton material you’ll hardly notice you’re wearing
- Long-lasting: GladRags are made to last at least five years but many users report them lasting strong after 20+ years
- Made from unbleached, undyed, certified organic cotton.
- Handmade in Portland Oregon, USA
Size and Absorbancy
With both inserts, the Day Pad is equivalent to a standard-size maxi pad.
Includes a liner + two inserts. Customize your absorbency needs by adding one or both inserts, or wear the holder alone.
Each day pad measures approximately 9″ in length, and 2.75″ in width when snapped closed. The inserts are ~7.5″ long.
Choose Reusable Organic Day Pads if you…
- Typically use standard absorbency disposable day pads
- Sometimes leak urine when you sneeze or laugh (happens to the best of us!)
- Have moderate flow
Looking for a different absorbency or size? We’ve got you covered.
How to Use a Reusable Organic Day Pad
Place the inserts inside the holder.
Snap the pad around your underwear. The smooth side of the pad goes against your skin, and the wings wrap around the crotch of the underwear to snap together.
Change the complete pad (holder and inserts) every 2 to 6 hours or as needed.
Why Choose Reusable Organic Day Pads?
For your body
Disposable period products can contain plastics, artificial fragrances, adhesives, and chemical gels–things you don’t want next to one of the most sensitive parts of your body! Choosing GladRags all-cotton pads means comfortable periods free from irritating materials and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the synthetic ingredients in disposable pads and tampons.
For your wallet
It can seem like GladRags cost more than disposables, but they actually are much more economical in the long run. On average, we’ll each use 12,000 to 16,000 disposable pads, tampons, and pantyliners in our menstruating lifetimes (and beyond, if we use pads and pantyliners for post-menopausal incontinence). If you’re buying boxes of 20 pads at $5 per box, you’ll spend upwards of $3,000… on trash. Sheesh!
For the planet
12,000 to 16,000 disposable pads, pantyliners, and tampons per menstruating person adds up to a whole lot of waste! Not to mention the manufacturing, shipping, and packaging impact over the years. GladRags last for years, helping you keep your environmental footprint small.
Easy Care and Cleaning
After use, separate the inserts from the holder. If desired, rinse or soak in cold water. (Optional). Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Alternatively, you may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from the dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.
A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide is not recommended as it can degrade the fabric and lead to holes.
Plastic-Free
Gladrags are highly absorbent, making a waterproof backing unnecessary. Plastic barriers can trap moisture and lead to irritation, chaffing, and odor. All cotton is better for your body and the planet.
Packaging
Packaged in a plastic-free cardboard box. Kindly recycle!
End of Life

Product: This reusable day pad should last you many years with proper use. When it is time to say goodbye, simply snip off the snaps and compost.
