Coral Reef Friendly Sunscreen

Unlike conventional chemical sunscreens that are harmful to humans and marine life, All Good mineral sunscreen products are made with the active ingredient, zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is a topical, mineral-based ingredient that sits on top of your skin and won’t absorb into your body. It is one of only two ingredients that has been FDA-approved for general recognition of safety and effectiveness (GRASE)*. All of the All Good reef-friendly suncare products meet broad-spectrum FDA standards and reef safe criteria.

About the Company: All Good

What can we say, it’s in their name! Founder Caroline Duell whipped up her first batch of All Good Goop “way back” in the 90’s. We’re so glad she did because this wonder product has since healed many ailments around the world.

Today, All Good is a woman-owned and operated company with headquarters in Morro Bay, California. They’re a Certified B Corp, balancing purpose and profit by considering the impact of their decisions on their employees, customers, suppliers, community, and environment… not just their bottom line!

They’re also Leaping Bunny Certified Cruelty-free (which means no animal testing!) and a 1% For the Planet Member, meaning 1% of their profits go to help global causes.

Most sunscreens contain chemicals that are harmful to coral reefs (and likely humans too). All Good is are committed to creating only reef-friendly sunscreen. They also use certified organic ingredients in their products.  They source organically grown herbs, oils, and raw ingredients to ensure their products are free from nasty stuff (harmful pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers) and promote good stuff (diverse ecosystems, healthy soil, clean groundwater). High five to that!

This sunscreen butter works great! It goes on smooth and protects my skin well. Use it sparingly though, as it does tend to leave a bit of a white sheen if applied too generously. The only complaint that I have is that it’s quite pricey for the quantity of the product that you get in return. The main motivator for me to buy this sunscreen again is its plastic-free, recyclable packaging.

Lovely! Very happy to find sunscreen that isn’t in a plastic bottle! It comes in a small flat container so I can easily keep it in my small cross body bag without any inconvenience. I even took it hiking for touch ups. Another review mentioned thats its pricey but after doing research and comparing prices per ounce it was on par with other reef safe and quality ingredient sunscreens.
