Ingredients

Made from U.S.A. grown and processed soy wax (most crayons are made from petroleum paraffin wax.) Combined with other plant waxes, natural ground rock (to give crayon rocks their body), and a variety of non-toxic powdered pigments to create beautiful colors.

Benefits of the Crayon Rock Shape … Besides looking really awesome!

Designed by a special education teacher, Crayon Rocks are a wonderful tool for learning tripod pencil grip. A child’s first writing tool is usually a crayon, and these Crayon Rocks encourage children to use their thumb, first, and second fingers in a tripod grip, helping little ones get comfortable with the standard pencil grip early on.

Red, green, blue, egg yolk yellow, black, brown, orange, purple, pink, grass green, sky blue, sunshine yellow, gray, tan, peach, white, strawberry cream, honey wheat, gold,  pumpkin spice, coffee, tree bark, cranberry, rose red, magenta, periwinkle, turquoise, aqua, spruce, autumn green, silver. Included in this collection is a group we call People Pebbles that were designed specifically to mimic eye, hair and skin tones of real people.

About the Company: Crayon Rocks

Barbara Lee was a special education teacher for 23 years, during which time she learned how important it was for children to develop a strong tripod grip early in their education process for handwriting success later on. A simple tool for developing these skills in young children wasn’t readily available, so she set out to create one. The first Crayon Rocks were made in a garage in La Crescenta, California. They mixed colors in small batches and hand-formed them into molds. In 2010, the company moved out of the hustle and bustle of California to peaceful rural Kentucky. Today you can find the team in a beautiful shop at the bottom of a hill in peaceful Hestand. These days their machine, affectionally dubbed Daisy, takes care of a good portion of the hard stuff.
