Vegan Toothpaste
Davids Toothpaste is a vegan product! One of the most common ingredients found in toothpaste is glycerin which is most frequently produced from animal fats. Davids uses non-gmo vegetable glycerin which is produced from oils of the soy plant.
Earth-Conscious Packaging
Each year about 1.5 Billion toothpaste tubes end up in US landfills and Davids wanted to do better. You may have thought the metal tube was selected for its modern aesthetic (that was part of it), but the main reasons Davids comes in metal tubes is to maintain maximum freshness and for their ability to be recycled.
This item comes packaged in a recyclable aluminum tube and an FSC certified cardboard box. A metal tube key is also included. Please recycle. (See notes on recycling below)
What’s a Tube Key?
Each tube of Davids charcoal toothpaste in a metal tube comes with a metal tube roller (tube key). It’s designed to slide on the end of the tube to roll as you go and squeeze out every last bit of toothpaste.
If you already have a tube key or would like to purchase this paste without it, simply include a note like “NO TUBE KEY” in the order notes field at checkout.
End of Life Recycling
Please note, you will need to clean the paste out of the tube before recycling it. Here’s how to do it!
1. Take some scissors or shears and cut off both ends of the tube.
2. Cut a slit the full length of the tube to fold open the tube to access the inside of the tube for cleaning….the edges of the metal are sharp, so please be careful.
3. Wash off the excess paste with running water. A toothbrush can be helpful here for removing all the paste.
4. Discard metal in the recycle bin.

Love it! My teeth feel clean and look noticeably whiter. It’s a big tube and I’ve barely made a dent in it so I imagine it’s going to last a long time. I love the transparent ingredients and that its made in the USA

I really do enjoy this toothpaste. The metal tube is appealing and the fact that I am supporting US made products is just a cherry on top. I am about the finish my first tube after about 3 months for one person. Not bad! I don’t recommend using the metal tube key until you are almost empty. I was excited to use the tube key and used it as soon as I could and it has put a constant pressure in the tube, causing it to ooze out, which is no big deal, just kind of messy. :p

It took a little getting used to. I’ve never used a charcoal toothpaste before. However, I really like it now! The tube is lasting just like normal toothpaste. I love that this product is made in the USA and ecofriendly too, of course.
